World's Funniest Expert?

This clip is of a customized keynote that Rick Lewis designed for an event that actually had no meal associated with it, yet the client wanted the same kind of surprise impact provided by the World's Funniest Waiter routine. In this clip Rick posed as an industry expert for a national wine distribution company conference. In this clip Rick pretends to be a wine expert, but within a few minutes of beginning his spiel it becomes clear that the presenter is either too pompous and incomprehensible for his own good, or a put-on. The sponsoring presenter was Brown-Forman and their objective in hiring Rick Lewis for this event was to give salespersons an informative and inspirational message on sales in a very entertaining way and thus break up the two day marathon of standard sales meetings that were being attended by the sales force.

The fake speaker concept is obviously not an original way, but can be incredibly entertaining and effective when done well. If you are looking for someone who can deliver an entire presentation as a double-talker, I highly recommend you look up Durwood Fincher, the best I know of in the department of double-speak as great entertainment.
